John Wayne -
"An American Legend"
John Wayne
embodies the spirit that Old Guys Rule represents; he is an
incredible international symbol and American Icon. Over his 50 year
career, Wayne appeared in more than 175 movies, beginning as an
extra in 1926 and starring in his final film "The Shootist" in
1976. In 1964, Wayne faced cancer; after beating it into remission
he announced, "I licked the Big C, because of an early checkup,
good doctors, and the Man Upstairs, I'm gonna make it."
Unfortunatly in 1978 the cancer returned and John Wayne passed away
in 1979 at the age of 72. To honor his memory, the family reated
the John Wayne Cancer Foundation. We encourage you to find out more
